'Unnatural State'
An accomplished painter, Gillian is best known for sensuous floral images and vibrant illustrations, inspired by both her imagination and natural surroundings.
"Florals and nature are my main passion and I work primarily in acrylics, watercolour, gouache and ink. My paintings are created from memory, fantasy and imagination."
Gillian is an active member of the Victoria arts community and has taught at the University of Victoria and Camosun College. She was a featured artist in the Royal British Columbia Museum's Illustrators Showcase, and served two terms on the City of Victoria's Art in Public Spaces Committee.
Gillian's works are exhibited in galleries including The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria - Art Rental Gallery and others throughout BC.
"My love for nature and colour goes back to my earliest and fondest memories. I am especially moved by the beauty and diversity of flowers, finding great comfort in their presence. They represent a sense of well-being and the freshness of life."
